For Youth and Adults that Care for Them

Dr. Jordy is not currently accepting new clients for individual therapy or assessment.

All different types of people from all races, cultures, and family backgrounds come to therapy. Therapy helps kids, teens, their teachers, and their families to understand each others’ feelings, behaviors, and thoughts. Some people come to therapy because:

– School is super stressful
– They need to talk through difficult things
– They’re having trouble focusing
– They want help with their friendships or relationships
– They worry a lot, even about stuff they know they don’t need to be worried about
– They feel sad or angry
– Someone who cares about them said they should (and it actually helped!)

Just like teachers are experts in reading and math, and coaches are experts in sports and fitness, psychologists are experts on feelings and growing up. Psychologists talk together with kids, their teachers, and the people who care for them to figure out ideas and actions to help make everyone feel better. In therapy meetings, Dr. Jordy asks everyone’s opinion on what is upsetting or frustrating. He helps kids, teens, and the people who care for them to understand feelings and learn skills to celebrate happy times and deal with tough times. Besides feelings, Dr. Jordy also might talk with youth and their families about things like identity (what makes you you), behavior, doing well in school, or getting along with others.

Dr. Jordy specializes in providing therapy to Twice Exceptional (2E), LGBTQIA+, and racially minoritized (global majority) youth (and the adults that care for them) experiencing a variety of challenges and presentations, including: Adjustment disorders (including grief, loss, and changes in relationships), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Mood (Anxiety and Depression) and Behavioral Problems (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Non-Suicidal Self Injury (NSSI), and Suicidality.

Let’s develop a more caring and just world together.
