Meet Dr. Jordy

Dr. Jordy is native to South Florida and provides services nationwide both through direct travel to sites and remotely through video conferencing. Dr. Jordy completed his Ph.D. at Florida State University in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology. His training concentrated on working with children, adolescents, and young adults as well as the educational, health care, community, and governmental organizations that support them. During his two-year clinical and school psychology fellowship with University of Maryland School of Medicine’s National Center for School Mental Health, Dr. Jordy provided local, state, and national organizations with training and technical assistance related to youth mental health, completed national school mental health policy audits, and served as a school-based mental health provider in Baltimore City.

Dr. Jordy’s work is motivated by the belief that our successes are best defined by the actions we take to help others thrive. He is committed to anti-racist work, addressing inequity, and making environments more inclusive. Dr. Jordy has worked with kids, teens, and the people who care for them since 2007 in a lot of different organizations, including Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY), Duke University’s Talent Identification Program (TIP), Yale’s Child Study Center and Academic Skills Clinic, community after-school programs like Boys and Girls Clubs of America, in-patient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment centers, and in elementary, middle, and high schools of North Florida (FSUS, Multidisciplinary Center, and Gadsden County), Baltimore City, Maryland, and Houston, Texas. Dr. Jordy is a licensed psychologist in Maryland and Florida. He has authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT) in several additional states through PsyPact. He has provided therapy, consultation, and psychological assessment to clients across school, health care, and community settings. He has worked with school (primary, secondary, post-secondary, and post-baccalaureate) and state administration to develop social-emotional skills and mental health literacy, peer-education, suicide prevention, and social justice programs in learning communities.

When not working with youth, their families, or the organizations that serve them, Dr. Jordy loves traveling with his wife, learning about cultures different from his own, trying new foods (especially desserts), and finding cool sneakers and watches.
